The Rights of Children Must be Protected and No One Should be Left Behind

Around the world, child's rights are a topic of concern in every country. Every child regardless of age, race, gender, wealth, or birthplace deserves not just to live but to thrive. Yet Millions of children's basic rights are denied and their childhoods are stolen from them by abuse, exploitation, or slavery.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic has affected children as much as I did adults. But the DSWD will give attention to the difficulties experienced by the children in the new normal. The pandemic will not be a hindrance in celebrating National Children's Month.

November 17, 2021 – Anchored on the domestic and international rights of the child, DepEd celebrates the 29th National Children's Month with various activities championing children's rights and welfare in the new normal.

With the national theme "New Normal Without Iwan: Right of Every Child WeTutukan", it will cover the myriad of issues on children's right to survival, development, protection, and participation in the new normal setting.

The yearly celebration will give importance to the children and they can showcase their talent. By doing this, it will help them to be more aware of their rights and improve in their chosen crafts. Therefore, the government must see to it that every child's play right is protected, implemented and no one should be left behind.
